A travel time map, also called an isochrone map, shows every place you can reach from a starting point within a given time. Instead of a plain circle, it follows the real road, path, and street network, so a 15 minute drive stretches further along motorways and shrinks in dense city centres. This tool draws three nested time bands from any address, for driving, walking, or cycling.
Nobody travels in a straight line. An isochrone is the true reachable area once roads, one-way streets, rivers, and speed limits are taken into account, which is why the shape looks lopsided: you get further on a fast road than across a canal or a pedestrian zone. For catchment analysis, site selection, and delivery zones, the isochrone is the honest answer. If you only need a straight-line circle, use the radius map instead.
When you enter an address, we forward-geocode it to a latitude and longitude with the MapAtlas Geocoding API, then call the MapAtlas Isochrone API, which routes across the real network for your chosen mode and returns polygons for each time band. Everything is computed on EU-hosted infrastructure. To build the same drive time bands into your own product, the Isochrone API exposes them through a stable endpoint.
